Team USA: Ambassador of American Pastry Excellence since 1988

Founded in 1988, Club Coupe du Monde Team USA represents the United States in the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, the renowned biennial pastry competition in Lyon, France. As one of the original competing nations since the event’s inception in 1989, Team USA has earned six medals, including a gold in 2001.

These accomplishments showcase the country’s top pastry chefs and reflect the team’s commitment to advancing the pastry arts through innovation, mentorship and excellence. The organization supports pastry chefs at all levels, from students to professionals, while promoting the exploration and growth of both the artistic and scientific aspects of the craft.

The American selection will take place on September 6, 2025

During the National Selection, candidates will have eight hours (8) to complete two (2) tasting presentations (frozen entremets & restaurant-style plated using Valrhona chocolate), a showpiece (chocolate or sugar), and a buffet display showcasing their work.

Selection for the 2027 Club Coupe du Monde Team USA is based on a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s performance during the United States National Selection. Their skills will be assessed on multiple factors, including the quality and execution of their work, the taste and presentation of the ice cream dessert and restaurant-plated dessert, and an interview with the executive board. Every aspect of their performance matters, as the selection process is designed to identify the most talented and well-rounded pastry chefs to represent the United States on the world stage.
