The Belgian Pastry Lions

Belgium's motto is “l'union fait la force” (“unity is strength”), and we're perpetuating the story to send today's Belgian talent into tomorrow's patisserie. A national committee has been set up under the impetus of Raphael Giot, Jean Philippe Darcis and Patrick Aubrion. Backed by their experience at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, they offer the necessary support that a competition like this demands.

The Belgian selection took place on June 23, 2025

After an intensive national selection, the new Belgian pastry team — the Pastry Lions — has officially been formed. This team will represent Belgium at the European selection of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in Paris, January 2026, with the ultimate goal of reaching the world grand finale in Lyon in 2027. The selection took place under the watchful eye of a jury of 12 professionals, all former medalists who have distinguished themselves on the international stage. By unanimous decision, three members were chosen to form the team: Nelson Lechien, Othmane Jaber, and Yoshiyuki Numasawa.
