CONTINENTAL ROUND Asian Pastry Cup

Asian Pastry Cup: the quest for excellence

The Asian Pastry Cup makes its return at FHA 2026 as the official Asia selection for the renowned Pastry World Cup.

The continental selection, taking place between 21-24 april 2026 in Singapour, brings together eight countries - China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore - to showcase their vision of pastry excellence. An emblematic city‑state made up of 63 islands, Singapore provides an ideal setting for this international competition. A cultural crossroads between tradition and modernity, the city stands out for its dynamism, openness and balanced approach between urban innovation and nature. Much like contemporary pastry, Singapore is a place of exchange and creativity, where local and international influences come together.

This selection aims to determine the teams that will qualify for the Patsry World Cup Grand Final at Sirha Lyon, highlighting the know‑how, precision and team spirit of Asia’s finest pastry chefs.

Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA): The hosting trade show

The Asian Pastry Cup takes place as part of Food & Hotel Asia (FHA), one of Asia’s leading international trade exhibitions for the food, hospitality and HoReCa industries. Held at Singapore Expo, FHA brings together thousands of professionals, exhibitors and decision‑makers from across the global food and hospitality ecosystem.

FHA serves as a major industry platform, combining exhibitions, conferences and high‑level competitions, including dedicated events for chefs, pastry and bakery professionals. By hosting the Asian Pastry Cup within its programme, FHA provides a professional and international setting that enhances the visibility of the competition and connects pastry excellence with the wider foodservice and hospitality sectors.

This synergy positions the Asian Pastry Cup at the heart of a global meeting point for innovation, skills and international exchange within the culinary world.

Competition format and tests

Each team is composed of two pastry chefs and one coach, with the competitors tasked with producing a series of creations during the competition. The tests traditionally include plated desserts, chocolate and sugar showpieces, and pastry or entremets creations, intended to highlight both artistic expression and consistency of execution. These challenges aim to showcase the diversity and excellence of Asian pastry craftsmanship while meeting the technical standards required at international level.

At the end of the selection, the top teams earn their qualification for the Pastry World Cup's Grand Final in Lyon, making the Asian Pastry Cup a key stepping stone in the competition’s global journey.
In addition, Singapore and Korea secured their passport to Lyon, earning their place to compete in the Pastry World Cup Finals at Sirha Lyon 2027, where they will represent Asia on the world stage.
