NATIONAL SELECTION United Kingdom Selection of the Pastry World Cup

The United Kingdom team flourishes on their quest to pastry excellence 

UK Pastry Club brings people together to raise the recognition of Pastry in the UK as one of the best in the world. Our purpose is to promote UK Pastry Chefs and the next generation, artisans, producers, suppliers and the whole hospitality industry to the rest of the world. 

The national selection for the UK took place on the 13th of June 2025, leading to three outstanding candidates being selected to represent their country on the European stage in January 2026. 

Qualification for the 2027 Grand Finale 

Team United Kingdom took part in the European Continental Selection of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, represented by Benoit Defait (sugar), Francesco Genovese (chocolate) and Calvin Luk (ice sculpture), with Martin Chiffers serving as jury representative. 

At the conclusion of the competition, the British team placed fifth, earning their qualification for the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie Grand Final. Their performance showcased a strong level of technical expertise and precision across all three disciplines, securing their place among the teams advancing from the European selection. Team United Kingdom will now represent their country at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie Grand Final, to be held in Lyon, during Sirha Lyon, on 22 and 23 January 2027, alongside the world’s leading pastry nations.
