Japan National Selection 2025: the three winners who represented Japan on the international stage

The Japanese national selection was successfully concluded, revealing the talents who went on to represent the country in the subsequent stages of the international competition.

Among the 24 candidates competing — divided across the sugar (9), chocolate (7) and ice (8) categories — three winners were selected following an intense competition, held for the first time at the end of July. The participants demonstrated creativity, technical mastery and a remarkable ability to adapt.

All candidates, each with at least five years of professional experience, were encouraged to push beyond traditional boundaries and fully express their originality through exceptional creations worthy of representing Japan on the global stage. No common theme was imposed: each competitor freely chose a concept that best showcased their expertise, while incorporating contemporary trends and challenges with a broad and innovative vision. The three winners then progressed to the Asian Continental Selections in 2026. The 2025 team was tasked with defending this prestigious title and continuing the country’s remarkable record of success on the world stage.
