Discovering talents from across the African continent

For the first time, the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie Africa took place in the Moroccan city of Dakhla, gateway to the desert that opens to the sub-saharan Africa. On September 10th, the 8 best talents from the African continent competed in the third continental selection of 2022, to define who then represented their nation at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie Final during Sirha Lyon 2023.

Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Senegal, Ghana, Mauritius, Tunisia and Morocco had 10 hours to prepare 2 Frozen Fruit Desserts, 12 Frozen Lollipops, 10 Restaurant Desserts, 1 Chocolate artistic piece, and one Sugar artistic piece. Only 3 countries were able to get a ticket to participate in the Grand Final, which took place on January 20-21, 2023.

NEWS 2022

Newly introduced during the 2021 Grand Final, the restaurant dessert and its Jury of pastry chefs and cooks integrated the tasting tests of the continental selections!
The candidates had to make 10 restaurant desserts: the presentation, composition and service were up to the candidates' choice.

The committee also wanted to highlight the dimension of "finger food" through another new tasting: the ice lolly. Shapes (cone, popsicles, etc.), colors, and composition were freely chosen by the candidates.

TOP 3 is now over

All participating countries, including the winning teams of the last edition, will have to go through a continental selection to have a chance of qualifying for the grand final.
