8 teams are competing:
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast; Burkina Faso
On Friday 29th of June will the selection of the African continent for the pastry World Cup take place.
The teams are composed of two pastry chefs: a sugar and a chocolate specialist.
The Kingdom of Morocco is preparing to receive the Africa Cup for the 4th time in Marrakech, the Red City.
As part of the TOC Afrique : Tournoi des Chefs d’Afrique
Organised by Rahal event at the Palmeraie Golf Palace, the event takes place within 4 days of competition called the African chefs tournament.
The selection of the Bocuse d'or will also take place for the first time in Africa, and the Marrakesh & South Regional selections in cooking and pastry will also take place within those 4 days.
This contest created in 2013 by Mr. Kamal Rahal, and co-founded by the President of the World pastry Cup Mr. Gabriel Paillasson is growing in the midst of African pastry chefs to become the major event of the discipline in the continent.
Rules of the Coupe Afrique de la Pâtisserie :
- 3 Chocolate Desserts with "grands crus" Valrhona
- 3 fruit frozen dessets with fruits from Ravifruit
- 12 plate desserts
- 1 sugar sculpture
- 1 chocolate sculpture
